Question:
It is so rewarding to see this process. It wasn’t too long ago we didn’t have a clue about this sport. I’m very competitive and have to remind myself of the importance of keeping it fun for Sadie because that’s why I have taken this endeavor on. The neighbors have commented on Sadie’s behavior and how well she has turned out.
See you tomorrow!

Answer:
David,
Thanks for sharing about the progress and everything with Saide training. I always love to read! It is REWARDING.
Now that Sadie has started to understand the rules of 2o2o (two on two off) at the contact zone..
Make sure she is not hesitating at any point of the descend of contact obstacle. You want her to run from one end to the other at one speed to touch the target dish (yes, use it on and off until she is convinced that it is not the dish, it is the nose touch behavior that earns food treats!). Any time you see her slowing down on descend ramp, do NOT treat, but just give her a pat on the shoulder and tell her "you can do better" and try again. If you give food reward for the slowing down behavior she may think that is what you want. Same time you do not want her to worry and stress. That's why you do the pat on the shoulder, but do not make it eventual. I have higher value treats hidden handy just in case dog does extraordinarily job. I will put it out in front of the dog and let him chow down. Great impression!
I'd like you to try clicker to retrain her verbal "Okay" cue.
See you tomorrow. Happy training!
